An administrative term of Jackson County Superior Court convened July 13 at the Justice Center with Judge Brad Letts presiding.

Results of the term are listed below, with information obtained from records on file with the Jackson County Clerk of Court office. Defendants pleaded guilty unless indicated otherwise. In addition to dismissals, dispositions included:

Steven Allen Butman, 48, Bryson City, admitted to a probation violation, original judgment modified, sentence of 90 days.

Ronald D. Picon, 59, Murphy, possess drug paraphernalia, placed on supervised probation for 12 months, fined $25 and costs and ordered to continue counseling; failure to appear, sentence of 27 days given credit for 27 days served.

Bobby Allen Gibson, 35, Long Cove Drive, Tuckasegee, admitted to a probation violation, probation revoked and sentence of not less than eight nor more than 19 months activated, work release, psychiatric and/or psychological counseling, substance abuse treatment and DART program recommended.

Jess Phillip Standingdeer, 56, East Main Street, Sylva, admitted to a probation violation, probation extended six months.

Dustin Michael Akyroyd, 28, Murphy, elude arrest with motor vehicle, sentence of not less than eight nor more than 19 months, given credit for 140 days served, ordered to pay costs and have no contact with victim, psychiatric and/or psychological counseling, substance abuse treatment and DART program recommended; larceny of motor vehicle and three counts attempted larceny of motor vehicle, sentence of not less than eight nor more than 19 months, ordered to pay costs and make restitution of $1,944.68, ordered to pay costs; elude arrest with motor vehicle and possess stolen motor vehicle, sentence of not less than eight nor more than 19 months, ordered to pay costs, sentences to run consecutively.

Garrett Kelly Nations, 24, Nations Creek Road, Whittier, flee/elude arrest with motor vehicle, sentence of 45 days suspended for 12 months and placed on supervised probation on condition he pay fine of $25 and costs and surrender driver’s license; also admitted to a probation violation, sentence of 12 days, probation extended 12 months, assigned to electronic house arrest for 90 days, ordered to obtain substance abuse assessment.

Michelle Lynn Rice, 49, Waynesville, admitted to a probation violation, sentence of 45 days, given credit for 31 days served.

Blake Pearson Henry, 26, Leatherwood Road, Sylva, possess Schedule I substance, sentence of not less than six nor more than 17 months suspended for 24 months and placed on supervised probation on condition he pay fine of $25 and costs and obtain substance abuse assessment, given credit for 58 days served; possess methamphetamine, sentence of not less than six nor more than 17 months suspended for 24 months and placed on supervised probation; possess heroin, sentence of not less than six nor more than 17 months suspended for 24 months and placed on supervised probation; also admitted to a probation violation, sentence of 30 days.

Kihrie Williams Holmes, 25, Spencer, resisting public officer, sentence of 45 days suspended for 12 months and placed on supervised probation on condition he pay fine of $25 and costs, perform 24 hours community service, obtain substance abuse assessment and assigned to electronic house arrest for 90 days; carrying concealed gun, continued from term to term for review on Dec. 7.

Brent Adam Brooks, 31, Rhodes Cove Road, Sylva, admitted to a probation violation, probation continued.

Travis Keith Mathis, 42, Oak Ridge Road, Tuckasegee, admitted to a probation violation, sentence of two days.

Vladimir Vivanco, 49, Harp Drive, Cashiers, had his case remanded to District Court on a charge of school attendance law violation.

Adam Warren Evitt, 31, Windy Gap Road, Sylva, possess with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver methamphetamine, sentence of not less than seven nor more than 18 months suspended for 18 months and placed on supervised probation on condition he pay fine of $50 and costs and obtain GED and substance abuse assessment.

Bobby Joe Cucumber, 41, Lucy Long Road, Cherokee, was found in violation of probation, probation extended 12 months, ordered to perform 24 hours community service.

Scotty Lee Nelson, 37, Union Hill Road, Whittier, admitted to a probation violation, probation revoked and sentence of 120 days activated, given credit for 13 days served.

Phillip Trevin Young, 30, Quinn Holcombe Road, Sylva, possess methamphetamine, placed on supervised probation for 12 months, fined $25 and costs and obtain substance abuse assessment.

Latasha Brooke Jones, 38, Weigela Lane, Sapphire, admitted to a probation violation, probation revoked and sentence of not less than six nor more than 17 months activated, given credit for 122 days served.

Cindy Ann Calagnan, 29, Sunrise Park, Sylva, admitted to a probation violation, probation continued.

Dee Dee Marie Carper, 35, Walhalla, S.C., possess drug paraphernalia, placed on unsupervised probation for 12 months, fined $25 and costs, ordered to obtain GED and substance abuse assessment; maintain vehicle/dwelling/place for controlled substance, prayer for judgment continued from term to term for 12 months.

Kevin David Ritchie, 31, Hayfield Drive, Sylva, possess drug paraphernalia and failure to appear, sentence of 120 days suspended for 12 months and placed on special supervised probation on condition he serve one day active time, pay fine of $25 and costs and obtain substance abuse assessment, given credit for one day served.

Carroll Moore, 58, U.S. 441, Sylva, attempt to resist/obstruct/delay public officer, fined $50 and costs.
