Veterans from several wars were recognized at a community-wide
Veterans Day celebration held Sunday, Nov. 9, at Tuckasegee Baptist
Church. From left are Walter Middleton, World War II; Cecil Frady,
Korean War; Buck Stewart, Vietnam; Keith Pannell, Desert Storm;
and Shane Jones, Iraq. The American flag used as a backdrop was
given to the late Alvin Watson, who served in the U.S. Army during
World War II and was a member of the church.
Following the patriotic service, a flagpole
and monument (below) were dedicated to the memory and honor of
