With assistance from parent volunteer Rusty Rhymer, Madisyn
French adds a gold star, decorated with macaroni, to the top of
this 12-foot-tall Christmas tree at First Citizens Bank in Sylva.
For the past 11 years, Debbie Hooper's and Kyleen Robinson's Shining
Stars and Moonbeams kindergarten classes from Fairview Elementary
have decorated a Christmas tree in the bank lobby. This year,
in addition to gold stars and moonbeams, the students made white
cone angels, snowmen with yarn scarves and glittery "no two
alike" snowflakes to adorn the live tree. - Herald photo
