Instead
of falling from the clouds, this year's first snowflake rode from
the ground to the sky with a little help from Mike Pressley of
the Sylva Public Works Department. The town's holiday decorations,
which include approximately 200 hundred snowflakes and six angels,
made their first appearance Monday on N.C. 107. Once the route
from Harris Hospital to the Courthouse fountain is decked out,
it will be ready to welcome Sylva's annual Christmas Parade, slated
for Tuesday, Dec. 2, at 7 p.m. Herald photo by Carey
