Residents' families raise funds

David Hunt, administrator at Mountain Trace Nursing Center, accepts a $1,500 check from Mary Diggs, president of the center's Family Council. The money was raised though a two-day yard sale the council held Dec. 12 and 13, and will go towards the purchase of a new handicapped van for the facility. The council had previously donated $1,100 for the van and has future plans to raise more money for the cause. "I'd like to thank each and every one that gave their time and donations to the yard sale," Diggs said.
