as inmates were moved into the new $6 million, 76-bed building
Tuesday, Oct. 28. Some 30 inmates – six from out of county
– were admitted Tuesday, and Ashe said he plans to make money
with the new facility because other counties must pay Jackson
County $40 per day to house their inmates. For federal inmates,
the rate is $85 a day, according to Ashe, who said. "It took
all hands on deck to make the big move." –
