Western Carolina University's newest campus landmark, a sculpture of a catamount poised on a rock outcropping, was unveiled Monday (Aug. 21) during Valley Ballyhoo, WCU's annual welcome back celebration. The catamount is a gift to the university from Charlotte businessman and longtime benefactor Irwin Belk, and was created by well-known sculptor Richard Hallier. |
