Bryson wins two events in track meet at Pisgah |

Smoky Mountain's men and women took part in a track meet March 27 at Pisgah.
Darius Bryson won the 100- and 200-meter dashes for the Mustangs with times of 10.96 and 23.37, respectively. SM's Eric McManus won the 1,600-meter run in 4:50.1. The 1,600-meter relay team of Chris Turk, McManus, Jonah Jurss and Michael Ayers finished first with a time of 3:56.25. Pisgah and Enka tied for the team title with 103 points. SM posted 50 points, and Tuscola had 14. Information on other individual Mustang placements was not available. For the Lady Mustangs, Crystal Moore was second in the 1,600 run (6:17) and 3,200 run (13.54). Elexis Smith finished third in the shot put (30-6) and fourth in the discus (75-10). Sabrina Bradley finished second in the 100 hurdles with a time of 18.89. She was third in the long jump (12-10) and high jump (4-6). Erica Sharrett was third in the 400 dash (1:08) and fourth in the 200 (29.9). Marie Jaimez was second in the 300 hurdles (58.0), and Kristen McAbee was fourth in that event (1:01). Lauren Kinsland placed third in the 800 run in 2:56. In the 100 dash, Courtney Bryson was fourth (14.5) and Ashley Harn was fifth (14.8). Krysta Buchanan placed fifth in the 100 hurdles (20.7). Enka won the meet with 115 points. Pisgah (62) was second followed by SM (51) and Tuscola (25). The men placed 12th among 18 teams in Friday's Franklin Invitational. They had 16 points to finish ahead of North Buncombe (13) but behind Hayesville (22). Asheville won the meet with 101 points to 82 for Reynolds. No information was available on individual placements. The women's portion of the invitational was rained out last Thursday. |
