Mustang golfers place second at Buncombe |

Smoky Mountain's golfers finished second among four teams last Thursday at Buncombe Municipal Golf Course.
Roberson came out on top at 319 with SM 10 strokes back at 329. Completing the field were Enka (347) and East Henderson (354). Ethan Mechling topped the Mustangs with a 77, which was one shot out of first place. Adam Bell was third overall at 82. Completing SM's top four were Nick Cox (83) and Zeke Cooper (87). The Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament will begin Monday at Buncombe Municipal with the second and final round on Wednesday or Thursday of next week at Mill Creek in Franklin. "It was a good thing for us to be able to see Buncombe Municipal," Coach Alex Bell said. "The course was fair, but it's a little different from what we're accustomed to. The greens were real hard, and the fairways were also." |
