Two Smoky Mountain football players go at each other in contact drills under the direction of assistant coach Josh Parris earlier this week. The Mustangs will have "practice-type" scrimmages at home against Tuscola at 6 p.m. Saturday and at Robbinsville at 6 p.m. Tuesday. They will have a "game-type" scrimmage at home Aug. 17 against West Henderson. "The players are trying real hard," said Coach Tim Hawkins, who is beginning his first season.
