Chuck Wooten (left), Western Carolina University associate vice chancellor for business affairs, received the North Carolina state government's Barry K. Sanders Award at the state budget conference held earlier this month in Raleigh. The award is presented annually to a state employee who demonstrates outstanding performance in the area of budget, planning or agency management. In nominating Wooten for the award, Joe Carter (right), WCU vice chancellor for business affairs, said Wooten "discharges (his) responsibilities with extraordinary competence and unstinting commitment to the university's mission. His integrity is impeccable. His professionalism is solid. His good will and readiness to help is boundless."
