Rhonda Blanton of Franklin received an honorable mention in The Sylva Herald's fifth annual "Mountain Spring" photo contest with this shot she titled "Spring Beauty." Winners were Nick Breedlove of Sylva, first; Pamela Dengler, also of Sylva, second; and Theresa Gonzalez of Cullowhee, third. Others receiving honorable mention were Bonnie Rowe of Waynesville, Judy Quealy-Greenwald of Balsam and Jeannie Threadgill of Whittier. This year's contest was judged by Cliff Blakely of Cullowhee, and winners were announced during Sylva's April 27 Greening Up the Mountains downtown festival.
