"The Golden Carp shop, didn't that used to be an old salt box house?" Sylva Sesquicentennial Committee member Joe Rhinehart, left, asked long-time Dillsboro Mayor Wade Wilson. "Yes, it was built by Mark Jarrett," said Wilson, who will lead a historical tour Friday, July 13, through the streets of Dillsboro. As part of the Friday the 13th adventure, Wilson will show where the Old Mill Inn was and tell about Mason Town, which even had its own jail. Participants are asked to gather at the Jarrett House at 7 p.m. for this sesquicentennial event sponsored by the Jackson County Historical Association. -Herald photo by Rose Hooper
