Hotel features Cherokee art

spider display An art committee of Cherokee tribal members oversaw the commission of artwork displayed throughout the new Harrah's Cherokee Hotel.

Dignitaries and guests were invited to view the artwork Friday, May 10, during the hotel's grand opening.

By focusing on Cherokee art, Principal Chief Leon Jones said, "We will provide customers with a unique experience not found in other hotels."

Below, a mural of mosaics designed by Cherokee children, depict the Cherokee legends of creation, the Milky Way and the game of stickball.
