Margaret Hamilton served as model coach for REACH's third annual Fashion Show, which was held Oct. 14. Nita Hawthorn and Natasha Thomason from Southwestern Community College's cosmetology program provided hair and make-up assistance.
Following the show, which was emceed by Humes and Frazier, shoppers received a 10 percent discount on all store purchases. Proceeds from the store help REACH's programs to promote economic self-sufficiency and zero tolerance of domestic violence and sexual assault in Jackson County.
Speaker Sybil Mann, director of the 30th Judicial District Domestic Violence-Sexual Assault Alliance, said 30 percent of the women who go to WestCare Emergency Room are victims of domestic violence.
"The work of REACH ensures basic human rights, especially the right that women and children should live safely in their own homes and not be subjected to cruelty at the hands of someone they love," she said.
