New DOT Board sworn in

DOT Board

Sylva lawmaker Rep. Phil Haire, right, joined Conrad Burrell, second from left, of Sylva and former Webster resident Alan Thornburg, second from right, as they were sworn in to serve on the Board of Transportation in March. "This is the group that makes most of North Carolina's biggest transportation decision," Haire said. "It's just a boom for our part of the state to have Conrad and Alan sitting on the board and looking out for our transportation interests." Also at the swearing-in ceremony were Dan Martin, left, 13th Division engineer in Thornburg's transportation district; and Ron Watson, middle, 14th Division engineer in Burrell's district.
