"Sun Rays Over the Smokies" by Richard Heitzenrater of Sylva took third place in The Sylva Herald's recent Mountain Spring photo contest. Other winners included Anne Jones of Webster, first; Velvet Messer of Sylva, second; D.J. Threadgill of Whittier, fourth; and Herb Zachmann of Sylva, fifth. Entries were displayed and winners announced during the April 28 Greening Up the Mountains downtown festival. Perry Kelly, president of the Jackson County Arts Council, was this year's judge. |
