Of more than 75 entries in The Sylva Herald's fourth annual Mountain Spring photo contest, "Spring On Our Porch" by Anne Jones of Webster is the first-place winner. In second place is Velvet Messer of Sylva, and Richard Heitzenrater, also of Sylva, is the third-place winner. In fourth place is another Whittier resident, D.J. Threadgill, and the fifth-place winner is another Sylvan, Herb Zachmann. Entries were displayed and winners announced during Saturday's downtown Greening Up the Mountains festival. Perry Kelly, president of the Jackson County Arts Council, was this year's judge. |
