Two Buncombe County men have been charged in connection with the break-ins of four automobiles.
Monty Theo McCrary, 25, and Joshua Randy Queen, 18, both of Candler, are charged with four counts of breaking and entering a motor vehicle, four counts of larceny and one count each of felony and misdemeanor possession of stolen goods, according to Detective John Buchanan of the Sylva Police Department. As of Wednesday morning, they were being held at the Jackson County Jail. Bond for both was set at $15,000 secured. Sgt. Rick Bryson and Officer Shannon Ashe were alerted to a suspicious vehicle in the area of Sylva Dialysis Center around 4 a.m. Monday, Buchanan said. After spotting a Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck leaving the parking lot of Rod's Auto Parts and Gary's Body Shop, Ashe and Bryson stopped it near Exit 85 on U.S. 23-74. Buchanan said the officers found the bed of the truck full of electronic items, including car stereos, speakers, CDs and radar detectors. During the investigation, the items were matched to those taken from vehicle broken into at Gary's Body Shop, Radio Shack and Wal-Mart, Buchanan said. The investigation is continuing with more charges possible. |
