Pinhook Gap

An opening reception for the Jackson County Visual Arts Association's Members Exhibition will be held Friday, May 25, at 7 p.m. at Gallery One on Main Street in Sylva. Artwork includes paintings, drawings, prints, photographs, sculpture, mixed media and crafts. "Pinhook Gap" (above), an original oil painting by member artist Jack Stern, has been donated as a fund-raiser. Tickets, on sale for $1 donation, will be available during the exhibit. A nationally-recognized artist, Stern lives in Jackson County and Colorado. The show will be on display through June 27. Gallery One, operated by the Visual Arts group, is funded by a grassroots grant from the N.C. Arts Council and the Jackson County Arts Council. For more information, call Ray Menze at 293-3407.
