REACH celebrates 25 years

While Jackson County Sheriff's Detective Celest Nolloman (left) is interviewed live on WRGC Radio by announcer Shaun Moss (second from left), REACH board members (behind table, from left) Russ Seagle, Gracia Slater, Margot Wilcox and Carolyn Burton serve refreshments to Suzon Hawley Tuesday (Sept. 23) during REACH's 25th anniversary celebration. The event at the REACH Thrift Store culminated a monthlong celebration of the non-profit's 25 years of "Blowing the Whistle on Domestic Violence." "Domestic violence is a serious problem and we need to work together on it," Sheriff Jimmy Ashe said. "Our job at the Sheriff's Office is to provide assistance to victims and to make the community safe for everyone." Both Nolloman and Deputy Donnie Allen serve as domestic violence officers for Jackson County. - Herald photo by Rose Hooper
