Bryson Park pavilion removed

Bryson Park Richard McHargue, left, Sylva's first town manager, finds his new duties are varied as he helps Tommy Rogers remove debris from what was the pavilion at Bryson Park. Jack Tolley, behind the wheel, brought down the old pavilion last Wednesday (Jan. 30). A new 36-foot by 26-foot pavilion with handicap-accessible restrooms, lights and electricity will be built on a concrete slab at the park and will have six to eight picnic tables. Following the construction, the neighborhood will help with the project, including painting. McHargue, who said the town is pleased to be getting this capital improvement project under way, said the objective is to build a quality facility. - Herald photo by Rose Hooper
