Snow-capped mountains |
The first of February sprinkled snow across the tops of Pinnacle, Black Rock and Yellow Face mountains Saturday morning as seen from the old Jackson County Courthouse. While temperatures reached 70 degrees on Monday (Feb. 3), Punxsutawney Phil, the weather-predicting groundhog who saw his shadow early Sunday morning, has predicted six more weeks of wintry weather. A little closer to home, local forecasters are calling for a chance of snow this evening (Thursday). - Herald photo by Rose Hooper
