'Crunch' time at rec center

YouthDirector

It's crunch time at the Jackson County Recreation Center as staff members moved into their new Cullowhee headquarters this week and prepared to welcome the public later this month. Taking a break from moving boxes, youth athletic coordinator Michael Hopkins tested one of the facility's new Nautilus weight machines. In addition to the weight room, the new center boasts a full gymnasium, stationary bikes, treadmills, three meeting rooms, a kitchen and men's and women's locker rooms. Jackson County commissioners are set to discuss membership and reservation fees during their 7 p.m. meeting tonight (Thursday) at the Justice Center. - Herald photo by Lisa Majors-Duff
