It's crunch time at the Jackson County Recreation Center as staff members moved into their new Cullowhee headquarters this week and prepared to welcome the public later this month. Taking a break from moving boxes, youth athletic coordinator Michael Hopkins tested one of the facility's new Nautilus weight machines. In addition to the weight room, the new center boasts a full gymnasium, stationary bikes, treadmills, three meeting rooms, a kitchen and men's and women's locker rooms. Jackson County commissioners are set to discuss membership and reservation fees during their 7 p.m. meeting tonight (Thursday) at the Justice Center. - Herald photo by Lisa Majors-Duff |
