Robinson hits 3,000 points

112508ashleyrobinsonc
Smoky Mountain senior Ashley Robinson (with basketball) was honored at halftime of last week’s men’s game against Asheville for surpassing 1,000 career points in the season-opener against Owen. Joining her were her coach, Cindi Simmons (left), and family members, from left: father, Derek Robinson; sister, Alyssa Robinson; mother, Dora Robinson: and grandparents, Ray and Jerri Kinsland. “It’s amazing, and I’m really excited,” Robinson said of reaching the honor. “This wasn’t ever a goal. It was more of a team thing.” Robinson is a four-year starter and a three-time all-conference selection. She was a key member of the Lady Mustangs’ 2007 state championship team.
