This position is responsible for designing, planning, and presenting health education programs on various health promotion topics using evidence based strategies for worksites and community groups. The person in this position is also responsible for the development of a community based partnership to improve the health of Jackson County and to assure the achievement of related goals, objectives, activities, and strategies developed by the Jackson County Healthy Carolinians. This person must have the ability to work independently; ability to effectively interact with governmental agencies, community agencies, health care organizations, community leaders, volunteers, and community citizens with tact, pleasant personality, and good judgment; must possess needs assessment skills and knowledge of biostatistical and epidemiological practices. TRAINING and EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Masters degree in public health education with a major in public health education; or, graduation from a four year university or college with a major in health education and 2 years experience in public health education; or, graduation from a four year university or college and three years experience in public health. Preference will be given to applicants with GRANT WRITING AND RESEARCH SKILLS. The salary range for this position is $37,971-$74,448.
