Tennis team loses two WAC matches
Smoky Mountain’s tennis team finished its inaugural season 1-9 with a pair of Western Athletic Conference losses last week.
West Henderson took an 8-1 win Sept. 29 at West, and Pisgah was a 9-0 winner two days later in the final home match at Mark Watson Park.
“We had a great season,” Coach Rebecca Moore said. “My goal for the year was to win at least one match which we did. For a brand new team with the majority never playing before, they have exceeded my expectations. I am very proud of them, and they have come a long way from where they began.”
