Dogs, owners enjoy day in park

100608barkinparkc
Dogs and owners turned out Sunday (Oct. 5) for this year’s “Bark in the Park,” a just-for-fun dog and people event sponsored by the Western Carolina Dog Fanciers Association and the Jackson County Recreation and Parks Department at Mark Watson Park. The event was part of the American Kennel Club’s Responsible Dog Ownership Program, and included demonstrations, contests and educational materials. The annual day in the park is for all dogs, both purebred and mixed breeds, according to Margo Gray of the WCDFA. “We had a great, great time,” she said. For more photos from the event, see here.
