Galloway family honored

090208Gallowaysc
The Smoky Mountain High class of 2008 honored Coach Dale Galloway and his family prior to Friday’s home-opening football game. Class members elected to refurbish the Mustangs at the top of the steps leading to the field and install plaques on each – one honoring Coach Galloway and the other in memory of his son, Connor. Connor Galloway died last October, a victim of the choking game. The Galloway family has fought since then to make parents aware of the dangers the choking game poses to adolescents. Taking part in the ceremony were, from left: Brittany Haskett, 2008 student council vice president; Coach Galloway; Aiden Galloway; Michelle Galloway; and Anthony Stephens, 2008 senior class president.
