Wallace takes over as Forest Hills mayor

By Stephanie Salmons

Forest Hills has a new mayor.

Town board members June 3 unanimously chose board member Jim Wallace to replace former Mayor Jim Davis, who resigned in March because of a planned move to Michigan.

Board member Gene Tweedy said he had not found any other parties interested in the position and made the motion for Wallace to assume the role, which was seconded by board member Dick Iobst.

There was no discussion.

Talks then turned to finding a person to take Wallace’s place on the town board.

Board member Suzanne Stone suggested resident Kay Shapiro, but no decision was made.

Other individuals are also interested and being considered but were not named at the meeting.

A decision will likely be made at the town’s July meeting.
