Two district Little League tourneys set
The Jackson County Little League will be hosting a pair of all-star baseball tournaments starting later this month.
The Junior League (13-14-year-old) District 5 Tournament will begin June 23 at Fairview Youth Complex. The entire event, including pool play and elimination rounds, will be here.
Fairview will also be the site for the 11-year-old District 5 Tournament set to open June 30. It also will include pool play and elimination rounds.
“We’re tickled to death to be able to host both tournaments,” said Shannon Messer, local Little League president. “All the baseball infields at the complex were sodded in the spring. We’ve got the best facilities in Western North Carolina. We feel fortunate to get to host two tournaments.”
