SM nearly had a third player make the regionals as Justin Garlock lost in a playoff. Buchanan finished 11th with a two-day total of 177. He shot 87 last Thursday at Kenmure and 90 at Glenn Cannon.

Denton had a strong round Monday with an 80 after shooting 98 last Thursday. His total of 178 put him 12th.

West Henderson won the championship by shooting 620 to East Henderson’s 648. North Henderson was third at 703 followed by Pisgah (728), SM (732) and Brevard (789).

“I was real proud of Jonathan coming back the second day and of Kameron’s consistency,” Coach Si Simmons said. “It was a great effort. We came up a little short on the team part, but we’re proud of the individuals who are going to represent us at regionals.”
