And the winner is...
Kaitlin Grant of Cullowhee picked up first place in The Sylva Herald’s annual “Mountain Spring” photo contest with this image she titled “Dandelion Courthouse.” Other winners include F.C. Etier of Maggie Valley, who captured second place; Dave Redman of Sylva who took third; and Jennifer Thomas of Whittier, Dara Eberly Smith of Livermore, Calif., and Ron Allen of Sylva, who all earned honorable mention. Area landscape photographer Larry Tucker judged this year’s entries and said he was impressed with the artistic style of the photographs. Selected contest photos will remain on display at the newspaper’s Main Street offices through June; winners were announced in conjunction with Saturday’s Greening Up the Mountains festival. |
