Library fund-raiser
Friends of the Library volunteer Ed Hamlet, left, and artist Frank Brannon hold up one of the limited-edition posters for this year’s Great Smoky Mountain Book Fair that will be for sale during the Saturday, Nov. 10, event and the pre-fair Friday, Nov. 9, 6 p.m. reception and 7 p.m. performance of “On Agate Hill.” Both the fair and the play will be at Sylva First United Methodist Church, and both will raise money for the new library fund. Brannon printed the posters for this year’s event and hand-tinted and signed the souvenir posters. Some 60 authors will be on hand for Saturday’s fair, which runs from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. with 20 percent of all sales going to the library fund.
