("WNCPRI") filed an application with the Federal Communications Commission for a construction permit for a new noncommercial FM broadcast station to operate on 89.7 MHz (Channel 209) at Cullowhee, North Carolina, with one kilowatt effective radiated power and an antenna height of 29 meters AGL (806 meters AMSL) from a transmitter site located in the Dick's Gap area at the end of Reservoir Road in Cullowhee. The studios of the station will be at a location to be determined.

This is to inform the public that a public hearing will be held on the proposed FY 08-09 Community Transportation Program Application to be submitted to the North Carolina Department of Transportation no later than January 1, 2008. The Community Transportation Program provides assistance to coordinate existing transportation programs operating in Jackson County as well as provides transportation options and services for the communities within this service area. These services are currently provided using vans and buses. Services are rendered by Jackson County Transit.
