On October 18 2007 at 7:00 p.m. in Municipal Hall, 83 Allen Street, Sylva, NC; the Town of Sylva Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing session as an agenda item on the question of land use classifications of properties incorporated into the Town of Sylva's Extra-territorial planning and development Jurisdiction (ETJ) pursuant to Part 3 of Article 19 of Chapter 160A of the North Carolina General Statutes. The Town of Sylva Board of Commissioners, on September 6, 2007 adopted Ordinance 2008-4, extending planning and development jurisdiction beyond their corporate limits into the Savannah Drive/Yellowbird Branch Road areas. The Town of Sylva Planning Board on September 13, 2007 recommended that the properties within the ETJ be classified for the following uses:

On the basis of thorough staff review and application of NC General Statute 143.21, Public law 92-500 and other lawful standards and regulations, the North Carolina Environmental Management Commission proposes to issue a National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES), wastewater discharge permit to the person(s) listed below effective 45 days from the publish date of this notice.

The County of Jackson [401 Grindstaff Cove Rd, Sylva, NC 28779] has applied for renewal of permit NC0000264 for its Jackson County Industrial Park WWTP. This permitted facility discharges treated wastewater to the Tuckasegee river in the Little Tennessee River Basin. Currently fecal coliform and total residual chlorine are water quality limited. This discharge may affect future allocations in this portion of the Tuckasegee River.

The sale will be made subject to all prior liens, unpaid taxes, restrictions, and easements of record, if any.
