Senator, congressman visit county

082107burrgreenenergyparkc
Both U.S. Sen. Richard Burr (center in left photo) and U.S. Rep. Heath Shuler (left in right photo) spent a portion of their August break in Jackson County Tuesday. Burr paid a morning visit to the Jackson County Green Energy Park, and Shuler was at Webster Enterprises for an early-afternoon tour. With Shuler are, from left, State Sen. John Snow, Webster Enterprises Director Darrell Fox, and employee Katie McLaughlin. The visiting officials were required to wear hats and gowns because Webster manufactures sterile drapes used in hospitals across the country. With Burr are, from left, Green Energy Park Manager Timm Muth and blacksmith William Rogers, who told the senator about the Park’s methane-fired forge.
