Musicians to ‘play for peace’ in Sylva Saturday
The second “Play for Peace” event will be held in downtown Sylva from 2 p.m. to 2 a.m. Saturday, March 17, in conjunction with several St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.
The event, a non-partisan stand for peace, will feature live music at several participating locations downtown as well as on the Courthouse steps. The February kickoff to the monthly series, which is planned on or near the new moon, drew more than 30 local musicians and 200 people, and musicians in seven other states held simultaneous events.
Musicians and venues for Saturday’s event include Obvious World and Kenny Styles, noon-2 p.m., Bubacz’s Underground; Sugar Barnes and friends, 2-4 p.m., Lulu’s Cafe; Ashley Chambliss and Chris Cooper, 2-4 p.m., Bubacz’s; CommonFolk and friends, 4-6 p.m., Henizelmannchen Brewery; Chad Hallyburton, 4-6 p.m., Bubacz’s; Friends and Fiends, 6-8 p.m., Guadalupe Cafe; Not Yo Daddy’s Jazz, Spring Street Cafe; 8-10 p.m.; Rafe Hollister, 9 p.m.-2 a.m., Guadalupe; No Strings Attached, 10 p.m. to 12 a.m., Main Street Bar and Grill.
