PUBLIC NOTICE
The Town of Sylva Board of Commissioners shall conduct a public hearing on October 5, 2006 at 6:00 PM in Municipal Hall, 83 Allen Street, Sylva NC. The purpose of the hearing is to hear public comment concerning an Extraterritorial Jurisdiction (ETJ) boundary for an area proposed between Allen's Branch Community and Exit 85 of US 23/74 Bypass. The area consists of twenty-nine parcels totaling 253.08 acres. ETJ is a tool, permitted by North Carolina General Statute 160A-360, which permits a city to extend its jurisdiction over land use and development up to one (1) mile beyond its corporate limits. The Town of Sylva will not impose any taxation or provide any services for the proposed area. However, all of the Town of Sylva land use and development regulations and ordinances shall apply to the affected area.
