Cullowhee firefighters remember heroes, victims of 9/11
Cullowhee firefighters stand at attention Monday (Sept. 11) as Woodmen of the World representatives dedicate a flag in memory of the victims of the 2001 terrorist attacks and of the emergency personnel who also died on that tragic day. Cody Grasty, a Haywood County resident who is president of the Student Government Association at Western Carolina University, leads students, faculty and staff in a moment of silence Monday (Sept. 11). The ceremony, held on the lawn of Hinds University Center, marked the fifth anniversary of the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.
