Appalachian crafts

Local cornshuck doll-maker Annie Lee Bryson will be one of the featured exhibitors at the inaugural Appalachian Arts and Crafts Bazaar set for Saturday, Oct. 21, at the Jackson County Recreation Center in Cullowhee. A few booths are still available for the event, which will be held inside the Rec Center gym. Sponsors include Catch the Spirit of Appalachia, Appalachian Homestead Farm and Preserve and the Jackson County Recreation and Parks Department. Traditional dress will be required by all vendors. Activities will get under way at 9 a.m. and continue through 5 p.m., with food tent booths outside the exhibit area. For an application, call Amy Garza at 631-4587 or Rusty Ellis at 293-3053.
