A June 18 domestic disturbance call led to the arrest of two men.
According to Lt. Jim Clawson of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Brandon Alexander,18, and Loren Rhinehart 50, were taken into custody after Deputy David Lovedahl responded to the call on Buckle Ridge Road in Cashiers.
Lovedahl found Alexander, who lived at the residence, outside in the driveway when he arrived, Clawson said. While attempting to determine the nature of the disturbance, Lovedahl was attacked and kicked by Alexander. After a brief struggle, Lovedahl arrested Alexander, who is charged with assault on a government official.
Upon entering the residence, Lovedahl found Rhinehart on a bed with what appeared to be cocaine and drug paraphernalia beside him, Clawson said.
Rhinehart is charged with possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia.
As of Tuesday, Alexander had been released on a $2,000, and Rhinehart was free on a $4,000 bond, Clawson said.
