All-star teams announced
Jackson County Little League has named its all-star teams for baseball and softball.
9-10-year-old softball
Karla Allred, Emily Brooks, Whitney Coggins, Caroline Dietz, Makinley Greene, Carlee Jenkinson, Alexis Maney, Anna Pierce, Maris Ridenour, Breanna Stillwell, Tate Sutton, Manager Carl Jenkinson, Coaches Tommy Sutton and Ricky Stillwell.
The team began play Monday at Swain.
11-12-year-old softball
Tierra Allen, Elizabeth Brooks, Whitney Brooks, Lynsay Buchanan, Lindsay Corbin, Savannah Farmer, Courtney Fish, Jordan Greene, Regan Moore, Kennedy Reese, Megan Tate, Shelena Thomasson, Manager Debbie Farmer, Coach James Buchanan.
The team will begin play this week in Cherokee.
9-year-old baseball
Bret Baldwin, Lyle Cabe, Alex Fitzpatrick, Travis Holden, Cristian Mireles, Chace Morgan, Ryan Mull, Lee Plank, Cal Raleigh, Cody Thomasson, Aidan Waldrum, Manager Kyle Baldwin, Coach Joe Waldrum.
The team finished second in play winning 8-1 against Fairview and losing 7-1 against Canton. The team lost to Franklin in the first night of tournament play but played Owen earlier this week.
10-year-old baseball
Sasha Bowman, Zack Bryson, Jordan Couch, Austin Davis, Aaron Dishman, Hayden Hodgin, Devon Jackson, John Morgan, Tanner Nations, Luke Parris, Conner Wilson, Manager Bobby Morgan, Coach Steve Wilson.
The team’s tournament will be played in Hayesville.
11-year-old baseball
Brady Fortner, Hunter Gass, Jacob Jones, Braydan McMahan, Heath Morgan, Nathan Neesam, Clinton Porter, Michael Scheff, Mitch Smith, Andrew Wheatley, Brent Wiseman, Manager Mike Wiseman, Coach Dave Neesam.
The team’s tournament will take place in Murphy.
12-year-old baseball
Gus Atten, Trevor Baldwin, Jesse Blanton, Tanner Cogdill, Jared Couch, Bradley Greene, Colby Greene, Jalen Rosbor, Dakota Ledbetter, Mark Thompson, Cody White, Manager Steve Gada, Coach Gene Couch.
The West District Tournament will be held at Swain with finals being played in Canton.
13-14-year-old baseball
