Softball tournament to benefit March of Dimes
A benefit softball tournament will be held Friday through Sunday, June 9 through 11, at Mark Watson Park in Sylva.
Proceeds from the $140 per team entry fee will go to the March of Dimes. Additionally, everyone who hits a home run will be asked to donate $1 to the cause.
Teams are limited to 12 and must register by noon today (Thursday).
In the event of low registration, the event will be rescheduled.
March of Dimes raises funds for research, advocacy and education to help prevent birth defects, premature births and infant mortality.
In 2003, the organization raised $217.5 million.
