Charlotte Royals win
The Charlotte Royals Orange 13 and younger boys basketball team went undefeated to win the Royal Rumble Tournament May 19-21 in Charlotte. Their overall record is 33-4. They have also won the Georgia Elite Blue Chip Tournament and the Raleigh Super Regional. The team will travel to Memphis, Tenn., on June 23 to compete in the AAU Division I National Tournament. Team members include Jackson Simmons of Sylva (back row, second from right). Si Simmons is one of the team’s coaches. |
