And the winner is ...
This shot by Christy Bryson of her then-2-year-old son Coleman is the grand prize winner in The Sylva Herald’s ninth annual Mountain Spring photo contest. Bryson, who lives on Fisher Creek, captured Coleman’s intensity last year as he hoisted a string of fish caught by his father, Brian, and brother, Hunter. Newspaper staff members judged this year’s 110-plus entries, and Herald graphic designer Nick Breedlove was contest coordinator. Other winners include Christy Taylor of Whittier, first place; Becky and Eric Hester of Sylva, second; Shannon Slater of Hendersonville, third; and Elaine Haskett of Cullowhee, Margaret Bulloch of Webster, Joey Hoell of Webster, Suzanne Stone of Sylva and Ginger Buchanan of Dillsboro, honorable mention. |
