Lady Cats sweep Furman

Western Carolina’s Allyson McCubbins slides safely into second base with a double during the weekend Southern Conference softball series against Furman. The Lady Cats swept the three games by scores of 5-1, 10-8 and 4-1. Savannah Filley was named the league’s player of the week after hitting a two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth for the 10-8 victory and being the winning pitcher in relief in the 4-1 win. – WCU photo by Ashley Evans
