Two Sylva residents remained in jail Monday after a March 9 larceny incident on North River Road.
According to Capt. Steve Lillard of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Tony Dallas Henson, 48, of North River Road and Michelle Renee Russell, 36, of Council Circle were arrested after they were seen leaving the scene with construction materials.
A witness spotted an older-model Dodge pickup and alerted law enforcement around 8 a.m., Lillard said. Deputies subsequently located the vehicle on Council Circle and recovered the stolen items, which were still in the back of the truck, he said.
During the course of the investigation and search, narcotics were discovered and resulted in drug-related charges against Russell, Lillard said.
Henson faces two counts of larceny and one count of possession of stolen property. His bond was set at $4,000.
Russell faces both of those charges as well as possession of crack cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Her bond was set at $5,000.
The investigating officer, Deputy Kenneth Woodring, was assisted by Sylva policeman Davis Woodard, Lillard said.
