Cookie creations help Girl Scouts
New this year to Girl Scouts’ annual March (Cookie) Madness are scrumptious desserts created from Girl Scout cookies. Based on one of eight varieties of the signature treats, the confections are on sale now with $1.50 from each dessert sale earmarked for WNC Girl Scouts’ Pisgah Council. Girl Scout friends and restaurant customers can vote for their favorite dessert by visiting the Girl Scout Web site at www.girlscoutswnc.org, or by completing a paper ballot at participating eateries. Showing of their cookie desserts are (top photo, from left) Lulu’s on Main co-owner Kim Anthony, chef Didier Cuzange and co-owner Laura McBane with the cafe’s “Caramel deLite Cheesecake;” and Burger Shack owner John Faulk (bottom photo) with his “Choco-volcano,” also based on Caramel deLite cookies. Soul Infusion Tea House is also participating in the Girl Scout Cookie Cookoff and is offering a dessert that features shortbread cookies.
