Western Carolina’s men claimed their second Southern Conference indoor track championship in three years over the weekend at the Clemson Indoor Facility.

The WCU women were runner-up for the second consecutive year.

ASU won the women’s title with 148.5 points to Western’s 122. Georgia Southern was third with 118.

Coach Danny Williamson, a Sylva native, was tabbed as the league’s men’s indoor coach of the year, marking the 19th time in his career he has won a coach of the year honor.

WCU sophomore Zeb Johnson was named the outstanding runner for the meet. He won the 60-meter dash in 6.85 and the 200-meter dash in 21.83.

The women were led by sophomore Raquel Ramseur, who won the 400-meter dash in 56.24 and the 200-meter dash in 24.51.
